

Wanda Joy (Baldwin) McKenzie, 83, passed away on January 27, 2016 in Dallas, TX. She was born on October 16, 1932 to Jasper and Iva (Jordan) Baldwin in Kaufman, TX. Joy was raised in the Ola area of Kaufman before moving to the Rylie area where she and husband, Harold began their family. She was known for her excellent cooking and utilized food that she had grown and canned herself. Joy would often organize weekend get-togethers, hosting a big feast for her family. Joy also was an accomplished seamstress and made all of her husband’s shirts, along with clothing for her children. She also enjoyed quilting and crocheting baby blankets and baby shoes. Joy was a Dallas Cowboy fan, especially during the Tom Landry days and loved animals and all genres of music. Her greatest pleasure in life was her family and she thoroughly enjoyed being a wife, mother and grandmother and will forever be in their hearts. Joy was a member of Central Baptist Church. Preceding her in death are her parents Jasper and Iva Baldwin, husband of over 50 years Harold McKenzie, siblings: Artemas Baldwin, Harley Baldwin and Marie (Baldwin) Bardin. Those left to cherish her memory are her children: Gerald McKenzie and wife, Linda of Forney, TX; Dennis McKenzie and wife, Nancy of Crandall, TX; Lana Winget and husband, Danny of Rowlett, TX; grandchildren: Rich Blain, Westley Winget, Chad Winget, Kyle Davoust, Nicole Mitchell, Tori McKenzie and Greg Davis; great-grandchildren: Jake, Sam, Lucas, Hannah, Lauren, Harper and two on the way; brothers: Angus Baldwin and Hubert Baldwin and a host of extended family and friends that will miss her dearly. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 30, 2016 at Roselawn Funeral Home in Seagoville, TX followed by interment in Roselawn Memorial Gardens where she will be laid to rest by her husband in the Garden of Scriptures.
