Wynester James Sr. gained his wings on September 7, 2026, at the age of 74. He was born July 12, 1952 in Clarksdale, Mississippi where he was raised by Willie and Dorothy Miles (born to Robert James and Dorothy Green).
Wynester had a fulfilling education in engineering, with several academic achievements. He received the Director's List Award for Academic Excellence within the Electronic Engineering Technology Program on October 4, 1991; as well as completing the George Washington University Continuing Engineering Education Program in recognition of completion of Professional Engineering on October 8, 1998. Wynester was a Satellite Technician for many years, and excelled in his career. In his free time, Wynester enjoyed listening to jazz and watching sports.
Wynester is preceded in death by Willie Miles Sr., Dorothy Miles, Willie Miles Jr., Robert James, as well as his son, Wynester James Jr.
He leaves behind his beloved wife, Patricia James; his daughter, Karmen Gardener I (Stefan); his son, Brian Scott (Tanyiell); his siblings, Andre James (Dawna), Derotha Miles, Janice Parker (Sharoin); as well as nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and a host of nephews, nieces, relatives, and friends.
Wynester will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Visitation will be held at Roselawn Funeral Home on Thursday, September 17, 2026, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. A Celebration of Life will be held at Gospel Tabernacle Church on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at 10 a.m. with the Committal Service to follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Repass will be held that same afternoon at Encouraging Word Bible Fellowship Church directly following the Committal.
