Betty Ann Lavern Choates was born January 27, 1999 to Calvin and Bernadette Choates in San Bernardino, Ca. She attended school in Las Vegas, Nv, Seaside, Ca, and graduated from Pacheco High School in Los Banos, Ca class of 2017. While in school Betty Ann played on the girls basketball team and participated in the powderpuff football event every year. She had a deep love for music, Hip Hop and R&B.
Betty Ann gave her life to Christ early in age and was baptized at Friendship Baptist Church in Seaside, Ca.
In June 2018 Betty Ann gave birth to her pride and joy, Carmelo Ermias Pomele. She was a devoted mother and dedicated all of her love to her baby boy. Everything she was accomplishing in her life was to better the future for her and Carmelo. Betty Ann would give credit to Carmelo for being the best thing that ever happened to her, her only true love. Betty Ann was also a devoted daughter, always right by her father Calvin's’ side, her true best friend.
In 2019 Betty Ann began working for UPS Delivery service. She worked hard from the very beginning and aimed high setting a goal to one day be promoted out of the warehouse, and become a delivery driver.
Betty Ann had a smile that would light up any room she entered. A sense of humor that was unmatched, love for her family, and respect for all. Her spirit will always be remembered as kind, respectful, and fun.
On June 16, 2021 God decided to call Betty Ann home. She leaves to cherish her memory and love, her father Calvin Choates, son Carmelo Pomele, many close cousins, uncles, family, and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, Bernadette Choates, brother Lamont Scott, grandparents Earl and Doris Choates, one aunt Annganell Choates, uncles Charles Whitcomb and Rodney Choates, and a cousin Dwayne Choates Jr.
To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord and one day we will see her again.
