Frida lived her life with grace, embodying a quiet strength and a steadfast devotion to her loved ones. Throughout her 92 years, she witnessed a rapidly changing world, but she always remained anchored by her family, her friends, and the tight-knit community of Seaside.
As a fixture on the Central Coast, Frida (and Frank) built a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories. She was a woman who found joy in the simple, beautiful moments of everyday life. Whether she was playing bingo at the Oldemeyer Center or at the Phil-Am, enjoying her grandson, his wife, Amber, and his beautiful children, or taking trips with Gambler’s Express, Frida approached every day with a generous spirit and an open heart. You could catch her during her younger days, with her honey, Frank, at the NCO club, enjoying dinner, dancing and a few CC7 cocktails.
Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family, who will forever carry forward her values of family, resilience and togetherness. While her physical presence is deeply missed, the profound impact she made on all who knew her will be treasured always.
She is preceded in death by her husband and love of her life, Frank Hunter Jr. She leaves behind a grandson, Anton (Amber) Hunter, great-grandson, her “bobo,” Dante and a great granddaughter, her favorite little girl, Frida Maria. The children’s mother, Tina Hunter, loved and adored her too.
Amber and Tina cared for Frida during her last few months to years of her life, spending hours upon hours of time together.
Service and Remembrance
A Celebration of Life in honor of Frida Hunter will be held on June 7th, 2026 at the Marina Tabernacle Church on Carmel Avenue from 3pm-5pm.
