Imelda Ragasa Barta passed away May 28, 2010 at Pacific Grove Convalescent Hospital after a long struggle with pancreatitis complications. She was born in Kalayaan, Laguna in Luzon Philippines Jan 5, 1938 to Hermogenes and Maria (Valbuena) Ragasa, and the fifth of six children. She arrived in the U.S. in 1978 and became a naturalized U.S. citizen in 1985. She was married to Stanley J. Barta in 1987. Always a hard worker, she was a banquet waitress for over thirty years in several Monterey hotels. She was a licensed beautician and owned her own beauty salon for twenty years. She was also an Avon representative for over thirty years. She was a member of the Filipino-American club in Marina, the Filipino Cultural Society, and the Laoaguenian Society of Monterey County, St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church and Choir in Seaside. An avid bingo player she enjoyed trips to Reno, Las Vegas and other casinos as well as going on cruises, along with her husband she enjoyed ball room dancing and aerobics.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three sister and one brother. She is survived by her husband Stanley, her sister Luningning Moral of Manila, four sons; Sam, George, Ken and Frank Cuaderno, thirteen grandchildren, one great grandson, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends in the U.S., Philippines and Australia.

Visitation: Wednesday, June 2nd from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. with a vigil service scheduled at 7:00 p.m. at Seaside Funeral Home Chapel at Mission Memorial Park.
Funeral Mass: Thursday, June 3rd - 10:00 a.m. at St. Francis Xavier Church.
Committal: Mission Memorial Park.
