Joan Faye Adams, Born December 21, 1949 in Huntsville, Alabama to John and Marion Pearl Johnson. She was one of seven children, four of which preceded her in death, and two surviving siblings; her older sister Gloria Jean Gurley (Detriot, Mich) and her younger brother Ronnie Lanier (Huntsville, Ala). She lived a life of laughter and spontaneity, traveling around the world as a military wife she left a lasting impressing on everyone she came in contact with. She LOVED her family, her motto was to give her children everything she didn’t have as a child. Joan’s biggest pleasure was entertaining; always the life of the party whether hosting backyard BBQs to dancing down the isles at the Monterey Blues Festival. She enjoyed serving her community…coordinating fundraisers for various organizations, delivering tasting deserts to the veterans at the American Legion, and always a friend to anyone who needed one. Joan had a very loving heart and strived to love the best way she knew how. She was known to everyone in the community as “Ms. Honey”.

Joan worked as a Food Service Working/Supervisor in the Military Dining Facilities aka “Mess Hall” for 20 years, she worked as a coder for 10+ years with McGraw Hill Publishing Company, and moved on to become the office manager for her husband’s business Veterans Landscape/Hauling/Maintence company. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Charlie L. Adams Sr; her 3 children Burgess Edward Lanier(Shawntel) , Charlene Laranda English(Steve), and Charlie Lee Adams Jr (Vitaelola). She has 11 grandchildren Deionte (Debbie) Gordon, Analicia Adams, John Burgess Lanier (deceased), Ariella Adams, Tatiana (Cordell) Reed, Charlie Adams III, Selah Adams, Chapel Adams, Bishop Adams, Kiara Riechers-Lanier, and Joshua Roberts. She has 5 great-grandchildren Anaias Jones, Deionte Gordon Jr, Cordell Reed Jr, Josiah Reed, and True Ermias Jones.

Joan was loved by all, she will be missed by a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Joan was a very Loving person. Knowing what I was going.through she recently told me she was sorry and she never had anything against me. Joan opened her home to me when she lived on Flores. when I need her to make some good eggs o duerves she never turned me down. I missed the social fun we would have. but I missed Joan picking my mom and I up for Church.

Wow, I can’t believe it. I 1st met you at CTB while we were working in the Updates department under Karen Johnson (Jones) for several seasons. Then gave you rides in my taxi and later Uber to the Legion. You always held it down. Wow, I can’t believe it.

To My Dearest Aunt Joan
Without a doubt this is one of the hardest things l've had to do in a long time. So l decided to make it sweet like you. The laughter we shared, and the kind words you said will stay with me
forever. The times l had with you I'll carry and if l cry or smile. I'll look up to the sky or the mirror and smile, simply because l look like my Aunt Joan. So l won't say goodbye, I'll see you on the other side. ❤️❤️❤️ RlH
