Johnny Taylor Jr.

SEASIDE – Johnny Taylor, Jr. a native of Louisiana was born December 17, 1928, passed away following illness, at the age of 84. A resident of Seaside, for 50 years, he is a retiree of US Army, having served 20 years. Additionally, Johnny was a civil servant with 25 years of service in the medical field.

Johnny was an active member of St. Francis Xavier Church, serving as instructor of RCIA and took great pride in maintaining the grounds and landscape.

Johnny is survived by his loving companion, Hellyn Ragsdale and family. He leaves five children, Glenn (Judith Hein) Taylor, Linda (Norm) Swanberg, Darlene (Sam) Marcucci, Michael and Arnold Taylor. Johnny leaves three brothers and four sisters, along with 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Johnny was predeceased by his parents Johnnie Taylor and Leonia Player Taylor.

Friends may pay their respects, Friday, March 1st at Bayside Community Mortuary, 1610 Noche Buena St., Seaside from 4:00 until 8:00pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, March 2nd, 10:00am at St. Francis Xavier Church, 1475 LaSalle Ave, Seaside. Burial will follow at San Carlos Cemetery, Monterey with presentation of Military Honors.
