My deepest condolences.  His was a life well lived, full of kindness and humility.  I will forever be grateful to his outstanding leadership that changed my life back in 1993, too.  May your soul rest in peace now, Tee.

Sitting here thinking of DeDe today and a new memory came into my mind that I wanted to share.  Before I do, I want to say that I have called DeDe, DeDe for the past 14 years since meeting the family.  It was just last week that my sweetheart (Kittima) told me, "Honey, it's TeTe not DeDe!"  haha  So- I hope you are all okay with me calling him what I've called him for the past 14 years "DeDe!" :-) 

When I first met DeDe in early 2009, I learned that he was a Christian from Burma.  This was fascinating to me because a few years prior, I had read a biography of the American missionary to Burma, Adoniram Judson.  So, when I learned that DeDe was from Burma, and that he was a Christian, I just knew that I needed to ask him about this person Judson whenever I got the chance. To be honest, I didn't think he would know who I was talking about.  

The next time I saw DeDe, I asked him, "Have you ever heard of the American missionary Adoniram Judson?"  And I will never forget how his face lit up and what he said to me!  He said, "Of course I have heard of him, he is the reason we have the Word of God!"  DeDe beamed as he spoke to me of the man who had translated the Bible into his language.  His response told me all I needed to know about DeDe.  May God give comfort and rest to DeDe's family and friends in this tough time.

When I first married my wife Kittima, we sometimes would go up to stay with Wen, Snow, the boys, and DeDe.  I remember being awoken many times in the middle of the night and hearing someone singing.  It was DeDe.  He had woken up and was worshiping Jesus.  I often recognized the song and just stayed up and listened to this great man worshiping his Lord.  It was a beautiful example of how I want to live my life.  I want to love the Lord as much as DeDe did.  When I heard that he had "gone home" to be with the Lord, of course, part of my heart hurt for his family, but the other part rejoiced for him.  I know he is with the Lord he loved so much and with his beloved wife.  I know we will meet again.  I'm grateful to have gotten a small glimpse of his life.  Until we meet again, may DeDe rest in the shadow of the Almighty! Amen!
