Luella went to be with the Lord on October 27, 2018. She was born in Fort Necessity Louisiana on June 6, 1940 to the late Edger and Altha King. Graduated from Franklin Parrish High School in Winnsboro, LA. she married her first and only love and moved to California in 1963.

Luella always had an ear and heart for anyone, no one was turned away, constantly poured her Devine wisdom into people and impacted many lives with her unconditional love. She was a caregiver and retired as a private duty nurse. Her favorite hobby was gardening, she truly loved spending time with her plants.

She dedicated her life to the Lord and was an active member of the Greater Victory Temple COGIC family. Over the years she served in the food bank ministry and the wife of the Usher Board President Jabus Horne and served in various other capacities in and out of the church. Her real love and commitment was serving as President of the Deaconess Board.

One of her favorite scriptures was 150 Psalms 1: 1-6, Praise yet the LORD. Praise God in his sanctuary; praise him in the firmament of his power. Praise him for his mighty acts; praise him according to his excellent greatness. Praise him with the sound of the trumpet; praise him with the psaltery and harp. Praise him with the timberlands and dance; praise him upon the high sounding cymbals. Let every thing that hath breath praise the LORD. Praise ye the LORD.

Luella was preceded in death by her parents Edger and Altha King, brother Bobby Joe Duncan of Vicksburg, MS, and her son Steve (aka chuck). Her survivors include her husband Jabus Horne Seaside , Ca; sister Diane Duncan-Rickets of Orange Park, FL; brother Charles Hunter of Seaside, CA her children; Jabus Jr., Tommy Dean, Rodney, Jackie and Alethea; grand daughters; Patrece, Jacquelyn, Jasminda, Christel, Christina and Destiny. Cherished in-laws and nieces, many, many "adopted" sons and daughters that she loved as her own, she will be missed greatly.

To Mr. J.B. Horne
This is Darrell Ray Collins, your old working partner. The most lovely lady has left this earthly realm. She was always the most kind and thoughtful person anyone could ever know. I was always made so welcome to anything you guys had. A dedicated Saint of God has gone home in victory! Many nights we worked and Mrs. Horne would tell us to make sure we get some rest. I don't think anyone could feel like a stranger in her presence. As the years past and I was introduced to your children I see you passed the same spirit to each of them. You know I am praying with you and your entire family. You and Mrs. Horne have always been the portrait of what family should be. I respect and admire you so much.

I have never been comfortable around people but you became my "big sister" the moment we met, your Agape love of people your understanding and gentle nature made you one of Gods greatest examples of a wonderful human being. Penny and me have watched and modeled our marriage based on what we observed between you and JB. I will always miss you but never forget you.
