Patricia Combs Meadows

On Tuesday, October 7, 2025, Patricia Combs Meadows passed away at the age of 81. Born December 11, 1943 in Killeen, Texas, to Willis and Virginia Combs, Pat was raised in central Illinois near many close relatives. She spent her middle school, high school and college years in Jacksonville, IL where she graduated from Jacksonville High School in 1961 and then earned Bachelor’s degrees in both math and business from Illinois College in 1965.

While pursuing a career in the burgeoning computer programming field, Pat relocated in 1969 to the Monterey Peninsula to accept a position at the Naval Postgraduate School. In 1971, Pat put down roots on the peninsula by purchasing a home in Pacific Grove. Pat and Mark Edward Meadows married in 1975 and raised two daughters in Pacific Grove. Pat continued to work as a computer programmer and data analyst for the Defense Manpowered Data Center until 2006, earning many service awards for her experience and dedication.

Pat loved her family, traveling and learning. She could often be quiet and reserved, preferring to read the Consumer Reports over attending a party, but she traveled the world, studied math and business in the 60s, worked in a male-dominated field, and was a working mother. She enjoyed camping and fishing with her family, long RV trips, and visiting her children and grandchildren, wherever they went. She taught her daughters by example to be hard-working, independent, life-long learners, and to pursue their dreams.

Patricia is survived by her two daughters, Laura Vasiliauskas (Jon) and Sharon Davis (Rigel); her five grandchildren: Mark, Sydney, Alina, Marissa and Juliana; her sister Willa and niece Jennifer.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 30th with a viewing from 9:30-10:30am at Bayside Mortuary in Seaside and a service at 11:00am at Mission Memorial Cemetery in Seaside. Reception to immediately follow at the Meadows family home in Pacific Grove. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to your local schools.
