My deepest condolences to the Sumler family. I met Steve when I was around 7 or 8. He lived next door to my grandparents. He was a really good man & a great father. I remember he would turn the music on for us. We would laugh & dance until we practically passed out! When he moved my best friend Dorrina, her mom, sister & brother to Homestead. A place had never heard of before. They might as well have said “he was gonna be stationed on Mars” I thought I would never see them again I was able to visit the following year and Steve was kind enough to take me & Dorrina to the beach to do what little girls do, collect “seashells by the seashore”
I’m so greatful to have known such a wonderful man & father.
Rest Peacefully in Heaven Steve. 💞

I send condolences on behalf of the members of the Peninsula Threshold Choir who sang for Steve for many years at the Menlo Park VA. He was always clear about his three favorite songs and we obliged. We will miss seeing him. May he rest in peace and rise in glory.
