OBITUARY FOR ULYSSES TAYLOR
Ulysses Taylor was born in Macon, Georgia April 21, 1940 to Willie and Elzerleen Taylor. He had 5 brothers and two sisters. He attended schools in Bibb County and graduated from the Ballard Hudson High School in Macon, Georgia in 1957.
Ulysses left home in June of 1957 to join the U.S. Army. He had tours in Alaska, 2 in Germany, Korea and Vietnam. He came to Ft. Ord California in October of 1972 where he met Lula Robinson the same week he arrived. They were together from that day until they were married at the home of their best friend, Vivian Elaine Gaines, January 31, 1976. The wedding was officiated by Pastor G.E. Hooks.
In 1973, Ulysses joined Community Missionary Baptist Church, Pacific Grove, Ca., under the leadership of Pastor G. E. Hooks. He accepted the Deaconship in the year of 1980. During his membership in Community, He was a Sunday School Superintendent, Chairman of the Deacon Board and Church Treasurer.
On June 8, 2021, God decided to bring Ulysses home. He leaves his best friend and wife Lula Yvonne Taylor, 4 Kids, John Amos Johnson Jr., Cedric Chester Johnson, Carlos Larue Jones and Pamela Renae' Evans, 16 Grandkids, 36 Greats, 2 Sisters and a host of Nieces, Nephews and other Relatives and Friends.
He will be missed but God loved him most!!! Bye for right now, But we all shall see you again!!!!
