Aaron W. Mann died suddenly on June 26, 2014 at the age of 44. He was employed by Alaska Airlines and the West Seattle YMCA. Although he moved to Seattle from Anchorage, he always considered Alaska as home. Wherever he lived, Aaron was always a positive and uplifting influence for those around him. Above all, he cherished his family, the men and women of Alaska Airlines, and the hundreds of kids, parents, members and staff of the Y family. His life’s goal was to serve others through thousands of hours of volunteer work for American Red Cross, Coast Guard Auxiliary, Disaster Relief teams, Providence Hospital (Anchorage) Heart for Heart and many community events and sporting events. His family will always take great pride in all that he was able to accomplish, and in the fact that with Aaron, people always came first. He never met a person that couldn’t become a friend and couldn’t go anywhere without meeting one of those friends.
A quiet man with a kind heart, Aaron forever will be to his parents, “The Boy” who skied the black diamond slopes, ice skated and skate boarded, swam like a fish and had a good life. We will always miss him.
The family has established a memorial website at www.bleitzfuneralhome.com for those wishing to honor Aaron’s memory or provide condolences. The family is working with the West Seattle Y to establish the “Aaron’s Kids” program where donations in Aaron’s memory can be directed. Details of the program will be available shortly.
PRESENCE
Some people enter our lives
like deer
slipping in and out
of the woods.
They touch our earth
and as we stop
to look at them
they disappear as quietly
as they came
But you feel blessed
for having experienced
their gentle presence
And you give thanks
that the world
is a better place
because of the joy
they brought.
