Adeline Helena Nelwan aka “Oma Dee” passed away September 21st, 2022 at the age of 99 in Edmonds, Washington. She was born on November 12th, 1922 in Amurang on the island of North Sulawesi in Indonesia but has been a long time resident of the greater Seattle area. Before marriage Adeline was a Kindergarten teacher but transitioned into being an incredible homemaker. She loved sewing and socializing although spent much of her time being a devout Catholic, known for always having her rosary. She would rise early in the morning, preparing breakfast for her family but also so that she could have her own time with prayer and the rosary. Cooking was another one of her loves, her family had the privilege of not only eating the amazing food she made but being taught how to cook by her as well.
Adeline Helena Nelwan was preceded in death by her husband Eddy Leonard B. Nelwan. She is survived by her children Irma, Roy, Richard, Victor, Natia, Ria and Paul as well as her 19 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at Evergreen-Washelli Funeral Home on 09/26/2022 at 9:30am followed by a 10:30am prayer service. Following the funeral services guests will be invited to gather in the chapel lobby for refreshments.
