

Adrian was born in Greenfield in Saddleworth, Lancashire, England just before WWII broke out. He was the eldest Son of Lily and Brian Barraclough. He had an older sister, Christine, and younger siblings Noel, Carolyn, Nicholas, and Iain.
Adrian first started as an apprentice for Vickers Armstrong who then supported his education through Bristol University. After four years, he graduated as an aeronautical engineer. After a few more years at Vickers, he accepted an opportunity to work at Douglas Aircraft in Long Beach, California. In 1981, he then accepted employment with Boeing Aerospace and lead the Flight Control teams for the 757 and 767.
He married Mary Foot in 1962, and they had three children, Hugh (born in Britain) and Dominic and Sophia born in California, U.S.A. Sophia passed in 2015.
His final residence since 1980 was Woodinville, WA.
His interests were many, including all things aeronautical, car rallying, rock climbing, playing clarinet, sailing, singing, playing piano, and socializing in the on-line game Myst Online Uru Live. His clarinet prowess included auditioning for the British Youth Orchestra. He also participated in the Long Beach division of Barbershop Quartet singing, SPEBSQSA, and the Puget Sound Welsh Association Choir. Also, he enjoyed most forms of humor and could very often be found engaging with anyone with his charm, wit, and laughter.
Though deeply missed, Adrian’s legacy lives on in the lives he touched and the family he so dearly cherished.
