Lena and the entire Moriguchi family,

Irwin Yoshimura recently called me regardig Mori's passing. I had been in contact with Mori since a recent Garfield High reunion. 
I attended Washington Jr. High with Mori and became a member of the Skyliners when Don Kinsley helped putting the band together
I once played in football game against Mori when he was the tailbck for the little league team. He killed us and was unstoppable.
Mori has remained one of my closest friends for all these years and he will be sorely missed.

Deepest sympathy and respect to the family of Akira Moriguchi, with acknowledgement of his splendid character and accomplishments. Special condolences to my beautiful stepsister, Lena Sadako Moriguchi. Your father will always be honored and remembered fondly. 

We grieve with the whole family for a lovable man.

I enjoyed nearly 20 years working with Mori and the Moriguchi family.  It was an honor to know him.  I sent my thoughts to the family through Tomio.  

Mori:

I am eternally grateful for the time that I
worked for you and for the way you treated my
family and me.  You were not only a great mentor, 
but also a true friend.  We shared many, many
good times. However, maybe the thing I will 
remember most about you is how you always
remained positive at times that were not so good. 
You would always flash that contagious smile of
yours and make a statement such as, "things will get better."

I know I learned a lot from you, but regret that
I did not retain more of your wisdom and kindness.

My family and I have a nice lifestyle and you
stand out above anyone else in helping us get to
where we are now.  You opened many doors for me.
I would not have been able to open all of those
doors on my own.

As I have talked to others about your passing,
there are many terms that keep getting repeated. 
A few of these include, a great friend, a happy
person, he was always humble, he made my life
better, he always made me laugh, etc.  

I hope that during the time we spent together, 
that I said thank you often enough, but am pretty
sure I didn't.  You will always be in my thoughts.

Mori,
You will be missed. I enjoyed golfing and laughing with you each year in Vegas. My thoughts and prayers go out to your family.

To all the Moriguchi Family, my deepest and heartfelt sympathy.  I will always remember Mori for being Mori.  And with that his four famous words: "I'll have a final final final"

Mori was one of the nicest, funniest guys I have ever met.  I first met Mori in 1985 when I worked for Olmsted and Assoc. He was always the life of the party as he remained with the Blue Phantoms as I was reintroduced to Mori in the late 1990's.  I will always remember my last round of golf with Mori as I was paired with him my last trip with the Phantoms.
Mori will be remembered for his love of life and his friendly smile. RIP and God Bless.

I worked for/with Mori for 12 years on Sun Luck, alongside Dale Allen and others at Sun Luck's corporate offices - throughout the 90's. He was always gracious, encouraging,and most importantly, fun to work with. He was a great man and he will be missed by all of us "out East".

You will be greatly missed, my friend...Thank you for all the laughter and generosity and always the love you shared...Aloha Oe koaloha, until we meet again...

Memories of my travels with Mori in China many years ago
still make me laugh.   I recall him having my father and uncles
in stitches at my wedding 25 years ago with his stories and remarkable sense of humor.  Mori lit up any room with any crowd.
