
Albert Perkins was self educated through life experiences. He accepted Christ at an early age and joined Bellview Baptist Church in 1933. He later met and married Charlean Thomas on November 14, 1939. To this union six children were born. One proceeded in death at age 6, Nathanal Perkins in 1952. Albert worked at a saw mill in Waskom, Texas. Later worked in Texarkana, Arkansas. From there to Texas City and back to Dallas. He later moved his family from Texas to Seattle, Washington in 1950. He was employed by Sternoff Metals as an Alloy Specialist and Furnace Operator for 34 years until he retired in 1984. In 1955, he joined Peoples Institutional Baptist Church where he remained a faithful servant for 54 years. He was first under the leadership of Rev. Penick, Rev. Edger W. Bratton, and now Rev. Dr. Amos Landry, Jr.
Albert departed this life on Thursday June 25, 2009 at 7:55 a.m. He leaves to cherish his memories, his loving wife Charlean; sons, Perry, Ulysses, Joe and James Perkins, and only daughter Earlean P. Hodge; 15 grand children and 25 great grandchildren. Albert was one of eight children; still to cherish his memories, Brother Johnnie M. Perkins of Killeen, TX and Sister Claudie V. Harper of Dallas, Texas. Proceeding him in death; father, mother; brothers: Tommie, T.C. and Eddie D. Perkins; sisters: Sallie Rountree and Alice Mae Turner.
He also leaves to cherish his fun sense of humor; countless nieces, nephews and cousins.
