Mrs. Alice Beach, 89, a longtime resident of Vashon Island and Seattle went to be with the Lord on Friday, March 16, 2001. Mrs. Clifford E. Beach was born in McIntosh, Florida to Clyde H. and Grace Daily. She moved to Seattle as a child. She was a graduate of Ballard High School. Alice was a 50- year member of the Eastern Star holding several different offices over the years. In 1936, Alice married Clifford E. Beach. They set up home in Queen Anne. It was there that they started their family giving birth to two daughters. Shortly after the birth of their second daughter, they bought a home on Vashon Island to raise their family. Her husband cliff retired from the Seattle Police Department. Mrs. Beach was very happy living on Vashon Island as a housewife and selling Avon for 15 years. She lived on Vashon Island until the death of her husband Cliff in 1978. She then went on to live with her daughters in North Bend, Oregon, Hawaii, and Tacoma. Alice is survived by her daughters Lavaun Daub of Hawaii, LaRaine Young of Tacoma, 4 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and her sister Doris Campbell.
