Anna was born December 23, 1923 in Belfield, North Dakota, to Nick and
Polly (Jearomchuk/Jeromchek) Palahniuk.
She came from a family of nineteen children (thirteen lived to adulthood): Carl, Pete, Albert, Mary (Herman) Dohaniuk, Mike, Sophie (Harvey) Mattice, Regina (Everett) Peavy, Eva (Ivan) Nickerson, Emma (Gary) Gardner, Ben (Sandra), Fred, and Lester.
Anna married Edward Elehue DeLong, June 14, 1942. They were blessed with four children: Joanne, Clinton, Linda, and Kenneth.
Ed and Anna had green thumbs. They both enjoyed gardening; Anna's flowerbeds were beautiful and fragrant. Both also shared a talent for painting scenes of nature. Anna liked cooking and baking, especially when she could do it for others; she loved it when family and friends came for a visit. Her bread and cinnamon rolls were everyone's favorites.
She is survived by brothers Ben (Sandra) Palahniuk of St. Regis, Montana, Lester Palahniuk of Camano Island, Washington, and Emma (Gary) Gardner of Mountlake Terrace, Washington; sons Clinton (Nancy) DeLong of Seattle, Washington, Kenneth DeLong of Seattle, Washington, and daughters Joanne (James) Ricks of Buckley, Washington, and Linda (Donald) Bangert of Snohomish, Washington. She was very proud of her 14 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren. She will be missed by the many who knew and loved her.
