Arnold L. Larson was born in Seattle, Washington October 7, 1924 to Leonard and Peggy Larson.
Arne, as he liked to be addressed, was raised in a Christian home in the Ballard neighborhood of Seattle with his two sisters Inabelle and Peggy Larson.
Arne met his wife Lois L. Scott in the college town of Champaign-Urbana, Illinois in the spring of 1946 at a USO function that Lois volunteered and hosted at often during WWII. Arne enlisted into the Army Air Corp (now Air Force) where he went on to complete his training as a medic. On December 1st, 1946 Arne and Lois married, within a few weeks after that day they traveled to Seattle to celebrate their first Christmas together. For the first six months they lived with Arne's mother Peggy Larson at her home in Ballard. The second home was established on Queen Anne Hill. Two years later with two boys in tow, they bought their house in North Seattle's Maple Leaf neighborhood where they raised all four boys: Kenneth Scott, Keith Leonard, Karl Verne and Kurt Arnold.
Arne's career choice was in civil service working for Seattle City Light from 1960 to his retirement day in the year 1987. While serving at the North Service Center, Arne worked in a variety of roles and duties. Lineman apprentice, truck driver for the crew trucks, driver/operator of the pole digger, dispatcher for the line crews, and honed his skills as the Tool Room Supervisor.
Arne loved his family, church, thoroughly enjoyed all his travels and adventures with his wife Lois to include many activities like gardening, fishing, clam digging, hiking, hunting, camping, and using the recreational boats, campers and trailers over the years.
So many fond memories shared. Arne place much value on family gatherings and reunions. Attendance and participation had always been of high importance to Arne especially with all his Larson, Lein, Petersen, Scott, Stanaway and Wright clan-families. It is an understatement to say how much he loved his family and all that they meant to him over the years.
Arne and Lois had been married for almost 67 years. Lois was laid to rest after joining her Heavenly Father on October 26th, 2013. Also preceding Arne in death is his son Keith on December 3rd, 2016. Arne is survived by three sons and their wives Kenneth (Janie), Karl (Linda) and Kurt (Kristina); 12 grandchildren. 13 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.
While holding his sons hand, Arne went home to be with his Lord and Savior on October 21st, 2017. Arne's last words spoken to his son Kurt was "O", "I miss your Momma".
With the Chaplin present, Prayers had been spoken over Arne's lifeless body to be received into our Fathers arms in all his glory.
A Special Thanks is given to all the Medical professionals that cared for Arne at Swedish Providence Hospital at Cherry Hill.
We will be forever blessed by Arne's life. His love for Jesus was always shared and known by others. The love and compassion he placed on family and friends, the encouragement he shared to those who would listen, always willing to give a hand and help when he could. This is what those who knew him well will remember.
Well done good and faithful servant...Well done!
To God be the glory great things he hath done.
