Through his tool age I got my first airline job with Aeroamerica. What a great guy who made us feel as part of the family then flying off to the four corners of the world. Last spoke to him years later after the airline shutdown and helped me with my paperwork for my dispatchers license. Always there to help as so many owe there aviation start to him. Rest easy on those new wings.

To the Family of Joel Eisenberg,
To a person, whom I have spoken with or emailed about the passing of Joel, the flight crews, mechanics and ground crews of AirClub International, AeroAmerica and AmericanAviationServices - have all expressed their appreciation of the fact that June and Joel started an airline.  During the harsh economic times of the early 1970's pilots and mechanics from across the U.S. arrived here in Seattle to take a job with a B707/720 Part 123, Airline.  Joel hired excellent Directors in Holly Trosper, Dick Heaton and Com Marsters who in turn, hired experienced crews complimented by up and comers who were willing to work hard and hone their skills.  Many of them, including me, launched life long careers in aviation and aerospace.
Joel was a "one of kind" entrepreneur who saw opportunity in non scheduled air travel before deregulation of the airlines occurred.  He employed hundreds of individuals, many bettering themselves through hands on experience which could be obtained at AeroAmerica, but not possible at scheduled airlines.  When looking back at those go-go years, each of us are thankful that Joel and June had the business acumen and guts to start an airline - for each of us who worked at AeroAmerica (et al) added "the many colorful threads aviation brings to the tapestry of our lives."   We are appreciative of Joel's investment in aviation, his boldness in operating an airline, and the job opportunities that we grabbed.   It was an unbelievably exciting time in the world of Non Scheduled Global Airline Operations.  
May you take comfort in knowing that many were in awe of his airline accomplishments.
