age 79, passed away in the early morning of Sunday, October 6, 2019 in
her home in Brier, WA. She was surrounded with love by her husband
and four children.
Aster was born on June 27, 1940 in Lezo, Philippines, the eldest
daughter of four to Macario and Antipolo Zaldivar. She graduated
from Philippine Normal College in 1960. Shortly after, Aster met her
ever faithful husband-to-be of 53 years, Rafael Lim. She worked as an
elementary school teacher for 10 years before moving to Seattle, WA
with Rafael in 1971. Aster stayed at home the next 8 years to take care
of their children, eventually making their home north of Seattle, with
a short stint in Guam. She went back to work and landed a job in the
King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office and retired as a paralegal
with 24 years of service under Norm Maleng in 2005. Her retirement
was full of visiting her grandchildren, cruising and sightseeing the
world with the most memorable being Jerusalem. She was active in her
community through the Sno-King Fil-Am Association and has been a
long-standing St. Pius X parishioner of over 40 years.
She is survived by her husband, Rafael Lim and their four children,
Rafael A & Stella Lim, Augustus (Raeli) & Kathy Lim, Rhea & Dino
Moore, and Raffy & Leny Lim and 7 grandchildren, Matthew, Michael,
Leileah, Mia, Tiberius, Christian, & Gabrielle.
Her surviving sisters are Herma Ruiz, Cynthia Peniano, and Lucille
Carrillo.
