Barbara was born February 16,1926 in Lewiston, Idaho, and went home to be with the Lord on November 15, 2009. Born to Ned and Blanche (Magee) Cochran, she was raised in Olympia and later moved to Tacoma. She graduated in 1948 from St. Joseph School of Nursing and then practiced nursing for over 15 years at St. Joseph Hospital maternity ward in Tacoma.
Barbara is preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Gilbert H Corley, and her daughter Linda. Survived by children, Gilbert (Krisy) Corley Jr., Tacoma, Philip Corley, Tacoma, Belinda Corley-Hernandez, Tacoma, Cameron (Denman) Corley, Seattle; grandsons, Gabriel (Premiss) Corley-Hernandez, Alex and Jack Corley and 3 great grand kids Michael, Jaydyn and Gabriel Jr. Corley-Hernandez.; sister Nancy Cochran, Seattle; brother Dennis (Eileen) Cochran, Olympia, numerous nieces and nephews.
Gil and Barbara owned and operated Gil Corley Co., in Seattle for 43 years, providing Christmas decorations to many retailers on the west coast. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. Barbara was an avid golfer and bowler; she also loved traveling the world. Barbara was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church by the Narrows, Tacoma Elks, Seattle College Club and was a follower of the U of W Huskies football program.
