Born on March 16, 1938, in Everett, WA, her life was marked by her amazing resilience starting from the time she was young when she lost her mom at the age of eight. Barbara lived in Edmonds for more than 30 years. She returned to her Everett roots in the 90s, living at the newly renovated Monte Cristo Apartments but later moved to Seattle to be close to her daughter.
Barbara was known for her love of antiques and was a lifelong collector. She had an amazing sense of style and loved beautiful things ranging from decorative glassware to primitive antiques. Later in life she branched out into collecting newer items such as designer ornaments and paperweights.
Barbara is survived by her daughter, Marcy Kutok. She was preceded in death by her mother Kasbara Olson (neé Lande), her father Walter (Oscar Waldemar) Olson, ex-husband Bernard Kutok, and long-time partner George Griffith.
In keeping with Barbara’s wishes she will be cremated and no formal funeral service will be held. Family and friends who wish to honor her memory may do so by supporting a cause near to their heart.
Her family is grateful to the Ballard Center staff for the care she received in her final years and to Continuum Hospice for their compassionate care and support.
