I've worked with Barb for the past 13 years. She not only was a dedicated worker as shown by her insistence on showing up to work even when sick, she was a caring co-worker always asking about everyone else's family. She was always upbeat, even when things were not going well with her own family. 

The day I missed her most was the Friday before Memorial Weekend because she would be asking as soon as she got there our early they were going to let us leave. We left early in honor of Barb that day.

She made a mark here at SAFECO and she will be dearly missed.

To the Trent Family:  There are many of us that are touched by your daughter's life here at work.  I can recall the many times she spoke of taking Taylor to see his grandparents.  The pain of your loss is only temporary, but the joy will overcome it someday soon.  Keep the faith.

To Taylor: Your Mother is a special person.  She will be looking down upon you from the heavens.  Thanks for sharing your Mom with all of us.

I enjoyed working with Barb and am shocked at her passing.  Although we had daily contact for several years, I hadn't seen her much since leaving SAFECO.  I last saw her just a few months ago when I ran into her in the SAFECO lobby.  She gave me a big hug, and I feel so blessed that that is my last memory of her.  My thoughts are with you all.

I worked with Barb at SAFECO until 1999 when I left to pursue other opportunities.  Barb was an absolute pleasure to work with and a joy to be around.  May God relish in the fact that he created such a wonderful person.  My sincerest sympathies to the entire family.  Don    

To Barb: So many things to say,such a short period of time to say everything. I will miss saying hello in the halls at SAFECO and all the chats we've had over the past 10 years.  

August is right around the corner and you've always told me you would attend the Taste with me.  I know in your last days you even joked about this with Sheila.  You could hardly write but I knew what you were telling her with your short words.  Some day we'll be in heaven together and we'll attend the biggest feast of them all. I love and miss you Barb.  

To Taylor: You had one of the neatest mothers a boy could ask for.  I hope we'll all be around to tell you stories of things she has accomplished in her life not to mention what she meant to each and every one of us.  

To Vince:  I know that you had asked Barb to marry you but she wouldn't do it in the hospital. I know she really wanted to walk down that aisle towards you and be able to do it on her own. I just wish she would have had the opportunity to do it.

To the Family: My prayers and thoughts are with you at this time.  I'm glad I had the opportunity to meet Barb's grandfather at the hospital the Wednesday before Memorial Day to tell him how much we thought and cared about Barb.

This is my goodbye as I will not be able to attend the service on Thursday.  

I love and miss you Barb and I will see you some day in the future.

Barb has been a close friend for many, many years.  Over the years we shared the personal ups and downs of our lives.  We worked together in State Filings and I still expect to see her pop into my cube to say hello as she did almost every morning.  Her loss is overwhelming to those she worked with, her friends, her family and most of all to Taylor.  My love, thoughts and prayers go out to all.

There are no words that could express the sorrow and sympathy that I, and so many others, are feeling with the loss of Barb.

I know that our hearts hold a deep sadness at the loss of her, but may it also hold the blessings and joy of the life we all shared with her in so many different ways.

I am praying that God will comfort our hearts, uplift our spirit, and carry us through this time of sadness to a place of peace.

Words can't express the sorrow we feel for your loss.  I too remember the first day Barb started at SAFECO.  Speaking for me as well as Barb, SAFECO provided us with so much support and stability we needed when faced with Life's challenges.  When Taylor was born, I always wanted to call him Tyler.  Barb always laughed and corrected me, but I made a concentrated effort to remember Taylor's name by relating it to the singer, James Taylor.  I will always think of Barb and Taylor when I hear James Taylor sing. 

May Barb rest in peace, and may her family find peace in knowing she was loved by many.  Time heals.

Barb and I were best of friends - we shared a lot of good times and not so good times. Our views differed greatly...but she loved me anyway.  I am not an easy person to be friends with. Ask anyone who knows me - I can be a big pain!...but she loved me anyway.  And I loved her too and miss her all the time.

Barb was expecting Taylor when I first came to work in State Filings, and we've worked together ever since.  Barb's energy, smile, and caring will be missed.  Taylor, my thoughts are with you and your family in remembering Barb.

Barb, You are dearly missed.  We have gone through so many life changes together over the past 10 years. We shared good times and hard times. I want to thank you for being the friend you were to me and helping me through some of the rough times in my life. Vince - I know how much Barb loved you.  It warms my heart that she had you, because you made her so happy. I also want to thank you for letting us to see Barb while she was in the hospital. It was lifting to see her spunk and good humor even while she was so sick. My heart goes out to you.

I went to school with Barb at Leota and Bothell.  Though we were not close friends, I remember Barb and her sweet personality.  

It is hard to believe that we all have been out of high school for 22 years and that some of our fellow classmates are no longer with us.

I work for a rating vendor in MO and had the pleasure of working with Barb for the last 7 years.  She was such a wonderful person, always helpful and so much fun to visit with. We got to where we knew each other by voice and I will miss her very much.

My memories of Barb are first from SAFECO in 1986 - we worked together manually proofreading SAFECO forms! We made a tedious job fun by talking the whole time! Barb was always cheery and smiling, very fun and funny.
Barb is also the only daughter of special friends and fellow church members of my parents. I feel I've known her all these years, even though we haven't talked for many. Her loss is tragic. It is wonderful to hear that the Davis family got to spend quality time together during her hospitalization, to help begin the healing process, and that Barb's suffering from cancer was short-lived before she was taken to Heaven.

We'll always remember how bubbly, smily and full of life Barb was.  She made a friend of everyone she
met and made people feel comfortable from the first moment she met them.  We remember that dreaded 
raft trip that was only supposed to take 2 hours but ended up taking all day!  It was miserable and we used
to laugh over that and say "We're not doing that again!".  She was always so positive and laughed so easy.  
It was definitely a shock to all that this happened but we know she is in a much better place.  Our hearts, thoughts
and prayers go out to her family, Taylor her son and our nephew and to everyone that knew her and will miss 
her and feel the big void that was left when she passed on.  We'll never forget you Barb!  Thanks for all the good
times and laughs!

There is never a moment that is right in our lives for losing a person we love. It's hard to know why things should happen like this, so we turn to our Father above. He'll lighten the loss and the sadness we're feeling with strength only He can impart. Just as a father embraces a child, He will shelter us near to His heart.
 
I miss Barb more than I could possibly put into words. I keep expecting her to bop into my office with the latest tid-bit about Taylor or her gardening or just her opinion for the day.

I continue to ask the Lord to send healing and to give each of you strength, courage, love and wisdom in the coming months.
