Joan B. Andrews, age 86, died peacefully on November 12, 2007. She was born September 10, 1921 to Efton and Edna Martin, raised in Stone County, Missouri and moved to Seattle in 1943. Joan married Robert E. "Andy" Andrews in 1946 and raised their family in Seattle, moving to Renton in 1964. She was active with the Cub Scouts and P.T.A. in both the Seattle and Renton School Districts. Joan was employed with Group Health Cooperative Central campus for 20 years, retiring in 1985. She is survived by her son, Gary M. Andrews Ronda of Kent; grandsons, Robert E. Andrews Amy of Maple Valley and Phillip N. Andrews Aubrey of Auburn; great-granddaughter, Kennedy Andrews; sister, Jeri Rice of Seattle and numerous nieces and nephews. In 1992, after 46 years of marriage, Joan was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert. Also preceding her were her parents; brother, Lee E. Martin of Crane, Missouri; sisters, Vena Machenheimer and Jackie Wallberg, and a dearly loved niece, Jean Price, all of Seattle. Services Saturday, November 17, 2007, 2:00PM in Evergreen Washelli Chapel. Interment, Evergreen Memorial Park in Seattle.
