

Bettie Jean Bradshaw, of Tukwila Washington passed away peacefully at her home, on January 22nd 2025. At that time, being 97 years young, almost 98. To start at a New Beginning of a more Relaxing & Peaceful Life ahead of her...
After raising four boy's. Ryan, Scott, Kevin and Craig Bradshaw, in Normandy Park Washington, she then moved on to Tukwila Washington area in her later life. Scott had then passed away on, September 26th 2022, and Craig, as well had passed away on September 7th 2023. Ryan, and Kevin are the two surviving son's of Bettie Jean Bradshaw.
Bettie also has a Grand Daughter, Stacy Bradshaw, and a Great Grand son Kyson M. Lor, she loved them both very much.
Bettie was raised an only child by Leslie, and Frieda Rusfeldt of White Center Washington.
Bettie in her growing up year's, was taken care of by the neighbor lady, Mrs. Johnson. As Mother's parents worked. In those days neighbor's helped neighbor's out with taking care of Bettie. Mrs. Johnson would walk my Mother to the city bus stop in the neighbor hood, and the bus driver, would take care of her as she road to Pioneer Square to the glass covered Pergola bus stop that was located there.
Bettie's parents, Leslie and Frieda Rusfeldt had owned a Men's Wool work clothing factory in Pioneer Square area. Men's Wear Inc. Skyline brands. Her mother Frieda Rusfeldt would then meet her there, and they would go to Fredrick & Nelson's for lunch, and the BON Marche for shopping. Mrs. Johnson also had a daughter named Vera Joanne Johnson, that was my Mother's Best friend since living up the street from each other at 3 years old. Bettie was a few years older than Vera, and called herself the older sister. Bettie then at age, attended Mount View Elementary School, in White Center area, and got her Diploma on September 24th 1933 from their.

Then the both of them, Bettie, and Vera, I believe went to Highline Junior High School. Bettie then Graduated on June 5th 1941. Vera, and Bettie both then attended Highline High School in Burien Washington and graduated in the Class of 1945. They both, together would also attend their class alumni reunions in the year's past. And proud, they never missed one. I believe the two of them were the oldest attending graduates the High School ever had, at the class reunions, till mobility became an issue. Bettie Jean Rusfeldt Bradshaw remained best friends, with Vera till she had passed away on January 3rd 2023. A long time close Friendship they had together... And the immediate family still keep in touch with each other.
Bettie and her family. Husband, and ( four boys) spent a lot of time camping at the Ocean beaches, and it seemed like every weekend back in the early years. Fresh clam chowder on the Coleman stove. Wet kids clothes, always, but what a way to have Fun Together as Family Exploring Life's Adventures...
Bettie, again, in 1961 joined a Women's Sorority club. BETA SIGMA PHI. A new Challenge and Best Friendships Began. After 56 years. Holding many positions of office throughout that time including 2007 Woman of the year Award OMICRON MASTER. "WOW " A lot of time spent with her Good Friends, she cared about like Sisters. And they were "Sisters". And they kept in touch with Bettie Jean till her passing... And are still in touch with the immediate family today, and remain close friends.
Bettie also Bowled when her Kids were is school on Tuesday. One son remember they could skip school that day, as Mother was not at home to call when absent. Bettie having four boys, would have to get them home for Food, dinner or chores. She had a Ship Bell on our front porch, she would ring to bring us home.
Then everyone had a bell.
As I saw it, she did it her way...
Bettie spent many hours volunteering at the USO facility at Sea Tac Washington Airport. Lots of hours helping the Service men of our country. She enjoyed very much, meeting and helping with their needs.
Bettie being a stay at home Mom, all her life on August 2nd 1973 went to worked for a company called Six Robblee's inc., as a receptionist and cashier. She was so excited. And Enjoyed that for 16 years and then retired June 1st 1989. On a letter to herself, on a business letterhead, she stated it was the "Best Job" I ever had ! Me Mom...
She loved people, and helping them when she could...
Growing up Mother was always Busy. Four Boy's, and Family. PTA meetings for her kids, Garden Club meetings, for her yard. Dog's, Cat's, Hamsters, fish, & 4 Kid's Sport's, that she, and her husband Jack Bradshaw would attend, or Dad would coach Baseball. WOW !
And so on.
Bettie loved animals, and trained her's to behave at home was amazing how they got along together. Big dog's, and cats together. They were All Family to her.
Bettie took time and traveled the United States a few times by buss and saw America by the seat of her pants. Ellis Island, and the Statue of Liberty, and lots of country in between. And Enjoyed it all as an Adventure...
Bettie's Family over years also build a Lake place, nestled on the shore's of WYE lake over in Kitsap County Washington. She loved to go there and relax, and watch the water, and morning sun rise to the east. A place her family built, and grew up together with friends, and gathering's, and some times with her Sorority bunch would spend the weekend's together there. Her place of Peace for her to enjoy, and she did a lot.
At times her kid's would send her flying in Sea plane's into places to stay, like Victoria, Roch Harbor, Friday Harbor and Rosario Resort. She would be so excited. The Journey in Live...
Bettie enjoyed the water, so every year we would get her a Seattle, and lake Washington unlimited boat tours of the local areas, and the Locks. This Pass enabled her to take a friend along...
They had a Blast, and she went often in the summer months.
At times I would need someone to help move a large racing sail boat around lake Union in Seattle, and Mother would help and drive the boat. We would wait for Bridges to lift, then we would proceed ahead. She enjoyed the opportunities, being out, enjoying family.
Bettie was Plain FUN to be around, and Always Willing to HELP. We couldn't ask for a Better and Caring Mother...
Through out Bettie Jean Bradshaw life she took on many responsibilities, and lived an Enjoyable life of Family, Friends, and Service to her Fellow Kind.
A Giving person and a FANTASTIC MOTHER.
