Betty was born in Vancouver, BC to Koichi and Shizu Murakami, the youngest of three children. With her parents, she moved to Iwakuni, Japan where she survived the hardships of war and would later meet her husband Frank of 41 years. Betty and Frank would finally settle in Seattle, WA, where she raised her four children and step-daughter.
Betty will be remembered for her humor, her strong will, perfection in the garden and her competitive spirit. She had the determination to go the farthest, to figure out a better way, and always finish well.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband Frank and step-daughter Lilly. She is survived by her four children, Art Yoshida, Patty Shigihara, Cindy (VJ) Sribhibhadh, and Val (Matt) Sasaki; her two grandchildren and two great grandchildren, Kameron Sribhibhadh and Kellee (Jacques) Rodriguez, and Kaylyne and Kailani Rodriquez.
