
Beverly went home to be with her Lord, Jesus Christ at her residence in Woodinville, Washington on December 24, 2006 with her husband, son, daughter & daughter-in-law at her side. She was born on August 5, 1922 in Portland, Oregon and resided most of her adolescence in Snohomish and Seattle.
Beverly graduated from Seattle's Broadway High School in 1940 and then attended the University of Washington and pledged the Alpha Chi Omega sorioity. In 1942 she left the UW to join the Navy to serve her country in WWII. She met her future husband, james Jim Culpepper in the Navy while both were involved in teaching weapons training. They married in Seattle in 1944. In 1956 Beverly returned to the UW to finish her degree in Mathematics and graduated Phi Beta Kappa in 1958. She then began her high school Mathematics teaching career at Bothell High School where she was also a counselor until her retirement in 1982. During her 24 years of teaching, she touched many lives and was involved with many different school activities.
Beverly was a sport's enthusiast attending her son and grandkids many athletic events as well as UW Rose Bowl appearances. For over 50 years she has been active in the Alpha Chi Omega sorority and has had annual gatherings with members of her 1940 pledge. In addition to working full time she always provided home cooked meals for her family, clean clothes and a spotless house. She and her husband, Jim built two promary residences in Bothell 1958 & 1978 doing over 80% of the construction themselves. She frequently joined her husband Jim in numerous salmon fishing trips normally to Wesport and Sekiu.
She is survived by her husband, Jim; her son Gary and daughter-in-law Alea of Woodinville, WA; Her daughter Barbara of Beaverton, OR.; Five Grandsons: Caser, Shaker, Reis, Jeff & Jeremy; Seven Grandaughters: Jill, Suzanne, Jacque, Jessica, Tiffany, Michelle and Rachel; and four super great grandchildren: Ellen, Tyler, James and Kyle.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2PM, January 6, 2007 at the Bothell United Methodist Church next to Bothell High School. Also on January 9, 2007 a memorial will be held at Brittany Park in Woodinville at 1PM. Remembrances can be made to the Booth Gardner Parkinson's Center at Evergreen Hospital.
