Billy Kathryn Brittan was born to Eva "Big Mamma" Caldwell and Oscar Caldwell on April 24, 1926 in Rio Vista Texas. She married Alfred Bernard Brittan in 1946 while he was serving in the Army Air Corps in Texas, and later moved to Seattle where they had two children, Jeffrey and Marc. They enjoyed a loving marriage until Al's passing fifty years later.
Billy led an active life with interests in gardening, bowling, sewing, card games, music, dogs, "antiquing", and golf - she even got a hole-in-one during a Sand Point tournament! In 1954 she helped Al form the family business "Brittan and Associates", representing food service equipment manufacturers. She loved traveling with Al, and helped with the business until 2004.
She leaves behind her two sons Jeffrey (Marva) of Seattle WA, and Marc (Dee) of Las Vegas NV. She has four grandchildren through Jeffrey, all living in the Seattle area: Jeffrey Junior, Richelle, Christopher, and Jessica. She also has six great-grandchildren: Colton, Kira, Nicole, Kyler, James, and Jillian. Billy came from a large family of 9 girls, with four sisters that preceded her in passing: Mildred, Pauline, Queen "Dude", and Laverne; and is survived by four sisters: Johnny, Esteleen, Margaret, and Joyce.
Billy passed away of natural causes on Sep. 2, 2011 at Swedish Hospital in Edmonds. We were blessed to have her in our lives, and take comfort in knowing that we will see her again someday. Billy was raised in the Church, as were her children. Until we see her again, we will treasure the many years of wonderful memories we shared, and celebrate her life by sharing those memories. We are thankful for the joy she brought into our lives, and we will keep her in our hearts forever.
