

Bishop Willie Vaughn, 90, passed away, October 11, 2016 at his home in Seattle WA, He was bom, February 24, 1926, in Little River County of Ashdown, Arkansas. He was a long time resident of Seattle after living over twenty five years in Pasco, Washington. He worked as a cement finisher, a pastor, a traveling evangelist and served on city counsel boards and ministerial alliances. His secular and spiritual occupation opened up opportunities to be part of the early infrastructure development of Pasco Washington and community involvement in Seattle. He was a pioneer of churches all across the Pacific Northwest. He loved people and was well respected by those who knew him. He provided jobs opportunities for young men as a cement finisher, worked with police officers, businessmen, civic and church leaders, to bring awareness and resolution to the social needs of the communities in which he lived. He served as the founding pastor of East Pasco Church of God and Beacon Ave Church of God in Seattle. He also founded the Pacific Northwest Fellowship of the church of God. He was a great churchman, a notable leader and a good friend to many.
Bishop was preceded in death by his wife; Minnie of 70 years, his parents; Reverend Oscar and Hannah Vaughn and all of his siblings; Leroy, Lois, Leester, Quella, Ira and Twyndale; one son, Curtis Dale; one grandson, Windell Jr.; two son-in-laws, Hollivan Richard Cody and Richard Timothy Evans; One daughter-in-law; Sherrie Vaughn.
He leaves to cherish his memories, four sons; Pastor Windell Vaughn (Brenda) of Atlanta, GA, Minister Jonathan (Donna) Vaughn, of Spokane, WA, Donald (Trina) Vaughn, of Enumclaw, WA and Bishop Alvin (Thomazine) Vaughn of Kent, WA; Five Daughters; Evangelist Dorothy Wilkins of Pasadena, CA, Erma Vaughn of Pasco, WA, Unittia Vaughn of Duluth, MN, Willetta Cody of Seattle, WA and Debra (Curtis) Watson of Kent, WA; thirty two grandchildren; seventy one great¬grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and the Beacon Avenue Church family.
Visitation will be held at Evergreen Washelli Memorial Park 11111 Aurora Avenue North, Seattle WA 98133, October 21, 2016; 2-7 pm.
Life Celebration Services will be held on October 22, 2016, 11:00 a.m. New Hope Presbyterian Church 19800 108th Ave SE Kent, WA 98031
