Björn passed away August 14, 2021 at the age of 65. He was born June 9, 1956 in Reykjavík, Iceland to his parents Björn Bergvinsson and Guðríður Ragnheiður Bjarnadóttir. His family immigrated to the United States making stops in Kitimat, Prince Rupert, Terrace and Vancouver, British Columbia before settling in Seattle, Washington in 1961. Björn is survived by his son Brandon and Brandon´s mother Donna Longrich, by his brother and sisters, Bjarni, Ragna, Bergrós and Linda and by his loving partner Allyce Kuroiwa. When he was younger, Björn crab fished in Alaska but more recently he owned and operated a hauling business located in the Magnolia area of Seattle.
Björn had three passions in life, travel, music and creating lifelong friendships. These three passions knit well together. On his many trips throughout the USA and abroad, he would always create music playlists to enjoy along the way and he would always return home with the names and phone numbers of people he had met, often offering them a place to stay if ever in Seattle.
Björn was also quite the entrepreneur. He loved to design sweaters and t-shirts with different sports team logos and to sell them at sporting events, often taking pictures of the person wearing the item they had just purchased. This was another way that Björn expanded his list of friends.
Björn touched all of our lives and he will remain in our hearts forever.
A visitation for Björn will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Evergreen Washelli Funeral Home, 11111 Aurora Ave N, Seattle, WA 98133. A funeral service will follow the visitation from 3:00 PM to 4:00 p.m.
