Borghild Petra Aarvik

Our beloved Borghild Petra Aarvik (98) was born June 12, 1927 in Stadlandet, Norway to Pora and Peder Aarvik. She passed away on October 10, 2025 in Seattle, Washington surrounded by family.

Borghild followed the love of her life Sigurd from their small hometown in Stadlandet, Norway on the ship Stavangerfjord in January 15th 1955 and arrived in New York January 24th 1955. Borghild and Sigurd settled in Seattle (Ballard), Washington and were married on June 25th 1955 at Ballard First Lutheran. Sigurd made a living as a successful commercial fisherman and Borghild was able to stay at home and raise their two children Steve and Betty.

Borghild was preceded in death by her husband Sigurd (2004), and son Steve (2013). She is survived by her daughter Betty (Doug), daughter in law Marit, grandchildren Sarah, Heather (Travis), Erika (James), Elisa (Michael), Scott, Robert (Kianna), and Great grandchildren Charlie, Kaia, Jakob, Wesley, Owen, and Ethan. She will be dearly missed by all.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, November 7, 2025 at Evergreen Washelli Funeral Home & Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please make memorial contributions to American Diabetes Association.
