Rey began his 40-year career as a Printer in 1932. He came to Seattle in 1942 and continued to work in his profession until retiring in 1972. Following retirement, Rey moved to Ocean Shores and resided there until moving to Tacoma in 1994. He eventually came back to Seattle in 1998 where he resided until his passing.
Rey was a member of Phinney Ridge Lutheran Church of Seattle, Galilean Lutheran Chapel of Ocean Shores, and Mt. Cross Lutheran Church of Tacoma. He loved photography, traveling, fishing, golfing and spending time in the outdoors. Rey always had a smile and was noted for his good humor. He will be missed by his family and friends.
Rey is survived by his wife of 65 years, Viola Johnson; son, Bruce Johnson & wife Patti; daughters, Kay Ferguson & husband Tom, Holly McGill & husband Mike, 8 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren; sisters, Florence Engelter, Phyllis Boze, both of North Dakota, and by many relatives and a host of friends.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, October 20, 2000, 12:00 Noon, at Evergreen ? Washelli Funeral Home, 11111 Aurora Ave. N. ? Seattle.
If desired, memorials may be made in Rey?s memory to the Charity of the Donor?s Choice.
