Carolyn Sybert Parks
March 12, 1942 – December 12, 2018
Carolyn Sybert Parks, of Seattle, WA, passed away peacefully in her home on December 12th, 2018 at age 76. Born on March 12, 1942 in Springfield, OH she spent her early childhood years growing up in Ft. Collins, CO then moved with her family to Seattle at age 13. She graduated from Roosevelt High School and attended University of Washington in 1960 where she was a member of the Chi Omega sorority and made life-long friends.
Carolyn was married to Robert Merwin Parks in the Fall of 1963 and they have four children. She is preceded in death by her parents, Willard Logan Sybert and Margaret Elsie Scheffler Sybert, and two brothers, Willard Richard Sybert and Jay Ross Sybert.
She was a true wit - her sense of humor was evident in the artwork she created and collected. We remember her as a creative woman who had a wonderful sense of style that permeated all aspects of her life. A great pianist, she loved all kinds of music, enjoyed painting and other artistic endeavors. She lived for a great party and her epic Seafair bashes were unforgettable.
Carolyn is survived by her children, Frederick Ross Parks (Vibeke Parks), Kristan Scheffler Parks (Tony Allen), Katherine Parks and Marianne Parks (Michael Ross), her sister Wendy Lu Sybert McGar (Greg McGar), and four grandchildren, Nikolas Steele Parks, Norah Serine Parks, Fredrik Nicolaysen Parks and Leo Parks Ross.
