
Born December 31, 1920 in Ferndale, WA; passed away November 18, 2008 in Issaquah WA at age 87. John was raised and grew up in the Seattle area, graduating from Lincoln HS in 1938 and serving in the US Navy during WWII. Later, he joined his father, Cecil Caley Sr., in the heating oil business, in which his father was a pioneer in the industry. John ran the company with his brother Ben until retirement. John was a member of the VFW, Seattle Executives, Lake City Elks 1800 Exalted Ruler from 1971-72; founding member and on Board of Directors of Ballard Bank of Washington. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed snow skiing, golfing, fishing, bowling, and loved his homes in Lake Chelan, Pine Lake Sammamish, and Skykomish. Most of all, his true passion was his family. Survived by sons, Stephen J. and wife Lynn, Geoff and wife Hollie; daughter, Colleen B. and husband Rick Thompson; his ex-wife married 48 years, Babs; grandchildren, Brent Anne, Shaun and Kyle Caley, Ryan, Lindsay, Kayley and Tanner Thompson, Allie and Tyler Caley; sisters, Dorothy Titterud, Colleen Newblom and a brother, Ben Caley.
