Charlotte was born on March 28, 1942 to Jack and Evelyn Stanley in Los Angeles, California. She and her two sisters were raised in Osawatamie, Kansas, where Charlotte met her husband, Frank Bachman and they were married in 1962.
Soon after getting married, Charlotte and Frank moved to Seattle to find work at the 1962 World’s Fair. Charlotte began working at the Federal Reserve Bank, where she would work for more than forty years.
In Seattle, Charlotte raised her daughter, Diana, and her two boys, David and Michael. She became involved with supporting women’s groups within the financial community, as well as with the various activities of her children. Charlotte and Frank were also involved with Queen Anne Little League, sponsoring teams for several years. Charlotte and Frank also liked to travel the country, taking many road trips across the West Coast or flights to Hawaii. After Frank passed in 1992, Charlotte continued her passion for travel and explored Europe several times and took train rides to visit new places. She was particularly fond of covered bridges.
After she became a grandmother, Charlotte was involved in her grandchildren’s activities, which often involved traveling to root for them. She also became involved in her faith.
Charlotte is preceded in death by both of her parents, her husband, Frank, and her grandson, Joshua Dickerson. She is survived by her sisters, Mary Anne and Linda, her daughter, Diana Dickerson (Kiyo), her sons David Bachman and Michael Bachman (Jennifer), and four grandchildren, Dylan Bachman, Jake Bachman, Kaitlin Bachman, and Addison Bachman.
At Charlotte’s request, there will be no public memorial service. In lieu of flowers, she has asked for donations to Children’s Hospital, 4800 Sand Point Way NE, Seattle, WA 98105.
