We were so saddened to hear of Cheryl's sudden passing. I am so grateful that the Harts in Cincinnati were able to connect with the Harts in Seattle. We will always remember fondly the visits back and forth and especially the meetings at Walt Disney World.  John, you remain in our thoughts and prayers. You are loved.

We are all feeling the loss of Cheryl, and our hearts go out to John. We've loved your friendship over the years. I have very fond memories of spending time at the Portland Zoo with you both, along with Cheryl's mom June. We also had a great talk while driving around Seattle, right before heading to Disney with John. And the kids just lived having her here in Anchorage, as it was fun to finally meet John's other half, and our 2nd cousin. You are gone too soon, Cheryl. We loved you and will miss you. 

I will always be grateful for having Cheryl as my friend and fellow volunteer. Her willingness to share her knowledge, friendship and time was a blessing. As we shared volunteering at NARA (Seattle), genealogy, as well as a commitment to family thru the years we had many varied and wonderful conversations on so many topics it is hard for me to just mention one. She is missed.


I had the extreme pleasure of helping Cheryl in her flower beds for these last eight seasons. Working in the flower beds together was a wonderful environment to develop our friendship. Because of her creative personality, which she also applied to her yard, it made each season for me an exciting adventure. I am honored to be able to say that I had such a friend.   


I was fortunate enough to work with Cheryl at Washington Natural Gas Co. She always had a positive outlook and a fantastic sense of humor.  Cheryl was a person of character and really looked out for those around her. I know we all looked forward to seeing her and working with her.  She will be missed.

Cheryl and I worked together at Washington Natural Gas in the 70's. She taught me about  accounting and I always wished that we'd continued to develop our friendship. My late husband, Darold Johnson, also admired and respected Cheryl. Strange - she's been on my mind the last week for unknown reasons, and this morning I read her obituary. She was a kind, thoughtful, and generous woman. My sympathies to the family.

As I was watering pink cosmos for my garden planting, I heard the phone ring in the house. The day was June 05. Later, as I retrieved the messages from the phone, I heard John Hart's voice saying, "He needed us to call him." Immediately, I sensed that he was very sad and I felt Cheryl must be having some trouble. As my. husband, Ron spoke to John, I realized that Cheryl was no longer alive.  Cheryl had been our friend since Ron and I worked at Seattle Public Library. We met John at the same time, about 1968. We lived about 28 years in Anchorage, AK. John's job was with the Boise-Cascade Lumber Company. He sold lumber and accessories to areas within Alaska. Our lives intertwined through the years. Cheryl and John were considered family as they helped us celebrate Aaron, our son's first birthday. Visits were made from John and Cheryl to AK. and from Ron and I to WA.. Jacob, born in 1974, would skate on his skateboard while us adults would walk around Green Lake. Now, as I water my flowers in my garden, memories of Cheryl come to my mind. She was a creative person with many goals. Whether she was painting the walls of her home, gathering information for her family's geneology, or experimenting with a new recipe, she was caring, expressive and thoughtful. I will miss her, yet she will be in my memories. Kathleen Lautaret
