Clarence "Bert" Sampson passed away January 16, 2008 after a short illness. He was born May 18, 1925 in Seattle to Bertinus and Jenny Sampson. He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Patricia; and his oldest daughter, Victoria. He was survived by his daughter, Sandra, and a brother, George, as well as many friends and family members. Bert served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II, being wounded twice - once at Saipan, Marianas Islands in 1944 and once at Iwo Jima, Volcano Islands in 1945. He received the Purple Heart for his courageous actions. He was a retired Seattle Firefighter with stations 15, 2 and 8, and was best known as "C. B. Sampson". He was a member of the Masonic Lodge 141 in Seattle.
