

Corel was born Oct. 25th, 1926 in Granite Falls, WA, to Lillian and James Edward Jacobs. She passed away peacefully at her home in Shoreline, WA, Dec 31, 2013 of Mesothelioma. She spent her final days sharing her life with friends and family.
Corel is survived by her loving husband of 67 years Clifton Dean Coatney, her son Rodney, her grandson Rodney Jr and his wife Alexis (Williams) and her great grand children Aleah and Gavin. she is also survived by her sisters Donna Barnier of Bellevue, WA, Shirley Larsen of Mount Vernon, WA, Marie Madsen of San Rafael, CA, Patty Lewis of Seattle and Judy Groves of Lake Forest Park, WA, as well as brothers William and Jerry Jacobs of Seattle.
Corel was preceded in death by her parents Lillian and James Edward Jacobs, sisters Bonnie Stark and Joanne Dunbar and brothers Ernie, Harold, and James Jacobs.
Corel married her loving husband Clifton Dean Coatney in 1946. She spent the first 13 years raising and caring for her son and sister Joann. She then worked for DSHS for 28 years retiring in 1988.
Corel was very family oriented to both her immediate and extended family. Always loving and thoughtful to all. She was very opinionated and willing to share those opinions.
She enjoyed camping and fishing and travel. She loved reading, quilting, sewing, ceramics and much more. She also enjoyed genealogy.
The camping evolved into travel throughout the US, Canada and Mexico. Then Hawaii as well as England, France, Germany, Spain, Italy, Greece, Morocco and China. She especially enjoyed traveling with her best friend Verly and her husband Bud Hellwig.
She fought her battle with Mesothelioma courageously and never complained. She just said "not everything in life is fair". She loved the phrase "count your Life by smiles not tears". She was so energetic, positive, loving and determined.
