Celebrated his 60th birthday on September 29th, 2005. Daryl was born in Seattle, WA, graduated from Shoreline High School in 1963, and the University of Washington in 1967. He moved to Los Angeles, CA, in the late?60?s, and taught high school math for 20 years before retiring to Las Vegas, Nevada. Daryl loved to play the horses and shared that interest with friends and family in Seattle, Los Angeles and Las Vegas. Daryl was a generous man, always seeking someone needing a helping hand. His generosity assisted numerous charities concerned with helping children, muscular dystrophy, Alzheimer?s, and AIDS. Preceded in death by his parents, Kelma and Ralph Shoemaker, Daryl is survived by a brother, Vern Amundson &Pat of Shoreline, WA; uncle Karl Brill; cousins, Albert Horn, John Mills, and Peter Michelson; and dear friends, Kerry Saldin, Dean Pollock, Ricky Bachemin, and Kevin McConnell. Daryl died on January 13, 2006, in Las Vegas, from an extended illness. A memorial service will be held this summer at Emerald Downs Race Track.
