August 20, 1947 to July 9, 2012
Diana passed away Monday after a hard, long fight with cancer. She was born in Boston, Massachusetts in August of 1947 to Edwin and Marilynn (Glanton) Boyan.
As a young girl, Diana moved with her parents and younger brother, Art, to Riverside, CA where she attended junior high and high school. During Diana’s childhood, one of her main loves was her Great Pyrenees dogs; very large and protective dogs that Diana presented at dog shows. She was very dedicated and proud of her 6 show dogs.
After graduating from high school, Diana then went to the University of Redlands, a private independent liberal arts university where she graduated. While growing up she had a desire to become a fashion designer, and although she owned her own Risk Management business later in life, she never truly lost her passion of design. This showed in the many homes she decorated and shared with her husband and in her always fashionable wardrobe, i.e., St. John.
Diana had lived in Los Angeles, Beverly Hills, San Francisco, and finally settled in the Seattle area with her husband Jim Blackmore. She truly enjoyed Seattle as it was close to the children and grandchildren in the area. During their fifteen years of marriage, Diana and Jim enjoyed many trips and cruises to Australia, Europe, Asia, and Africa just to name a few. They lived in numerous homes; Lake Washington, Newcastle, Sommerset, Queen Anne, just to name a few, but finally decided on the latest home in Bellevue. She enjoyed their many vacation homes in Hawaii, Arizona, and Lake Chelan in which they spent much of their time with the children and grandchildren. Diana was a huge inspiration to her grandchildren with her love of people, the arts, and motivation for life; she was a “true class act”.
Diana had many “loves” for life, one which was shown in her passion for animals, and the other being the Arts. She attended the theater regularly and was very devoted to the Seattle Opera, Bellevue Philharmonic and the Ballet. Diana was able to touch many people in her life, leaving lasting impressions on those who were blessed to know and love her, and spend time with her. She will be missed by all, mostly by her devoted best friend and loving husband Jim, the four children and spouses and their ten grandchildren. Her love and passion for life will continue to live forever in her family’s and friend’s hearts. Diana, you were our “Lady Di”.

Close family services have been held, but Diana’s “Celebration of Life” will be held sometime in August, downtown Seattle.
Diana is survived by her husband Jim, her stepchildren Dan & Kathi Blackmore, Seattle; Teri & Bill Ratzsch, Ravensdale; Rob and Linda Blackmore; Covington, and Rick and Cyndee Blackmore, Covington. This is along with their ten grandchildren, Janessa, Tiphany, Hunter, Jacqueline, Dalton, Melissa, Clint, C.J., Megan and Maddie. Diana is also survived by her brother Art Boyan, his wife Luana, and niece Samantha from San Diego, CA.
"As I reflect on the days of my life, some may seem brighter or more colorful than others; some may appear cracked or chipped, yet each day is precious. I have been strengthened by challenge, broken open in crisis, and sustained through it all by God within. I have been humbled by my errors and encouraged by my success. I've been blessed by friends and family as we've lived through times of joy and sorrow. For every loss I've grieved, I had been blessed by a time of love. I have no regrets. I love my life!"
