Diane Pearl Gorlick, age 93, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend, passed away on June 18, 2022. Born on March 28,1929, she was the daughter of Ruth and Harry Pearl and the fifth of their six children. Diane was raised with her siblings in Seattle as part of a large extended and loving family that spent lots of time together, including summers and weekends at
Redondo Beach on Puget Sound, just south of Seattle where her parents had a home for many years.
Diane graduated from Garfield High School. At age 16, she entered the University of Washington where
she met Harold Gorlick, her match for energy and quick wit. They eloped in 1948 and raised three children in the Seward Park neighborhood. Diane and Harold celebrated 70 years of marriage, their home a hub of activity and the center of many happy gatherings of family and friends. Summers around the
pool were especially memorable with an abundance of popsicles and other treats. They also enjoyed
traveling and skiing. Diane read multiple books weekly and three newspapers daily. She needed to know what was happening with everyone and everything. She was a fabulous and adventurous cook and baker. As a young mother, she developed an interest and appreciation in NW contemporary art and design that continued throughout her lifetime. Devoted to her family, she was generous and kind and spent a lot of her time taking care of others. Diane had a way of sharing her exuberant and supportive spirit with you in every encounter, bringing out the joy in everyone in her life. Diane was preceded in death by her husband Harold, son Jeffrey Gorlick, siblings Libby Pody, Gertrude Minsk, Frances Harris, Bernice Barrat, and Warren Pearl. She is survived by her children Jody Bellar (Steve) and Howard Gorlick; grandchildren Madeline Bellar, Leanne Gordon (Seth), and Rand Bellar (llene); great- grandchildren Eli Gordon, Mickey Gordon, and Jonah Gordon; cousins; as well as many nieces, nephews, and their children and grandchildren. She will be greatly missed and remembered well. Diane's family is grateful to her wonderful caregivers Michelle Bacani, Marta Mengesha, Melbie Soreano and Yesenia Maldonado.
