

She was born on May 29, 1936, in Bellingham, Washington.
Dolly is survived by her sisters, Cora Ruff and Ernestine McGrew; her daughters, Debbie Alskog, Lyndia McGrew, and Carrie Ann Bushlen (Art); her son, Rex McGrew. And her stepdaughters, Alex, Susan, Kristine. Though brought together later in life, their bond was filled with warmth, respect, and love. She also leaves behind six beloved grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Purbaugh; her sister, Belva McDowell, her parents; and her son, Perry McGrew.
Dolly retired after 30 years of dedicated service with J.K. Gill and Fred Meyer. She had a deep love for travel, especially trips to the Oregon Coast and visits to National Parks. One of her favorite places was the Hawaiian Islands, where she married Richard Purbaugh. She enjoyed leatherworking and creating beautiful belts and book covers. Dolly was known for her passion for eagles, her fondness for frogs, and her love of gardening.
She will be remembered for her kindness, her loving heart, her beautiful smile, and her ability to make everyone feel at ease. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
A memorial service has not yet been determined. Her ashes will be interred at the family plot in Darrington, Washington, on May 29th, 2026 with a gathering to be held after the interment.
