Don was born in San Francisco CA., the son of Jesse and Anita Cole. When he was a child, his family moved to Seattle, where he later graduated from Lincoln High and joined the Army in 1941. After the service, Don went to work for his father at Puget Sound Painters as the office manager and estimator. He continued with the company after it sold as its VP. Don was a Master Mason 32(degree) life member of the Lafayette Lodge No. 241. He loved to travel and had received his "200 days of cruising" medallion with many more cruises planned.
Don married Ruth in 1952 and they enjoyed 56 years together until her passing in 2008. He was also preceded in death by his brother Raymond, his sisters Dolores and Marcelle. He is survived by his sisters Violet(Walt) and Margie Diane(Tim), his brother Ron(Gayle), his daughter Sandra(Roger), three grandchildren and their partners, one great-granddaughter, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
