Susan, Gavin, and Bo-- I am so very sorry to learn of Don's passing. This really hurts. Jean Orvis, who was the founding head of Seattle Academy until her retirement a few years ago, learned of it through Facebook, and she immediately called me. I'm not a Facebook guy, so I rely on those who are truly connected to keep me informed of important things. Gosh, although we all lost contact with each other over the years, (I retired a couple of years ago), I've got wonderful memories of our various connections through the years. There were legal connections, education connections--all SORTS of connections. This sounds like a cliche, but it isn't--you're in my deepest prayers. And, I believe in that. When things settle down for you, and when we're allowed to see non-family members in person again, I'd love to be on your list. You're certainly on mine. With much love--Jim Rupp

My memories of Don include his efforts on the Delta Chi Board Trustees over the years, his life-long dedication to our fraternity and the long-term friendship we shared throughout the time when we first met in 1962. Don was an articulate and skilled attorney and could always be counted on provide his keen observations and advice in any situation. I have attached a photo taken at a reunion of our brothers from 2007--these were happy times as we gathered to celebrate our 45+ years together. Don will be missed at our annual Founders Night celebrations this year and we will raise our glasses high in his honor. My condolences to Sue and his children. Don you will be sorely missed.

Don was a fellow classmate of mine at Central Valley High School in Spokane, Wa. Although we moved on in our life’s, I hold Don as a close friend and always enjoyed our conversation at reunions and the banter on Facebook. R.I .P. My friend until we meet again.

My heart is with Susan, Gavin and Bo. Don was one of my best friends since we met in 1964. He was a great guy and good influence on everyone who knew him. We were brothers of the most genuine kind. Don was always generous and understanding and never asked anything in return, although he enjoyed an enormous bounty of friendship and respect from so any. A great husband and dad. A lawyer dedicated to helping people. I had the good luck to speak with Don on his most recent birthday and we talked about getting together soon. That may wait, but my love and respect for Don will always endure.
