He is preceded in death by his beloved wife Suzanne MacNaught Ries and daughter Vicki Ries. Survived by his son Brad Ries.
During his High School years, he lived in the NW cities of Portland, Seattle, Salem, Spokane and finally resided in Seattle in his Jr. year to attend Roosevelt High School. After graduating in 1942, he started at University of Washington.
In February 1943 he joined the United States Air Force, becoming a pilot, flying C47's and C46's in the South Pacific. After WWII he returned to Seattle and Mercer Island to work for Graybar Electric, retiring after 35 years.
He loved his family, friends and enjoyed making things for his friends at the Mirabella Retirement Complex.
At his request, no funeral or memorial services.
