Doris, 107, passed peacefully of natural causes in her Bellevue home. Good health and a sharp mind blessed Doris throughout her life. Born in Tacoma on July 30, 1913, Doris enjoyed the outdoors and Camp Fire Girls. She graduated from Franklin High School and worked at Aetna as a claims adjuster and at the Tree House in Redmond. Doris served as the president of the American Women's Business Association.
Doris married Albert Bolton in 1940 until his death at the age of 61. They had two children, Marge and Bob. Bob was an active part of her life until his passing in 2019.
Doris and her daughter Marge were very close and lived together for the past 40 years. They traveled the world and visited all seven continents. Doris was honored as the oldest passenger on several cruises and took her last voyage at age 105. Doris loved to garden and one year had 120 dahlia plants. She was an avid reader and would often read a book a day. She enjoyed theater and had front row seats at Village Theatre in Issaquah.
Doris is survived by her daughter Marge, her daughter-in-law Jeanne, grandchildren Jan (Chris), John (Crystal), and great-grandchildren Rachel, Tyler, Luke, Seth and Zach.
