

Dorothy Rosella Kuehn Anderson, of Seattle died Monday, May 28, 2012 at the home she shared with her son in Greenbank, Washington. She was born in Wanda, Minnesota, October 9, 1910 to Minnie and Otto Kuehn. She graduated from Morris High School, Minnesota, in 1928, and then attended St. Mary's Nursing College in Rochester, Minnesota. She also attended Beauty School in Minneapolis and assisted her mother in her beauty salon. She married Alfred C. Anderson in 1937, they moved to Seattle in 1942 so Alfred could work in the shipyards during WWII. They raised five children, Judy Lamson of Snoqualmie, Marsha Sage, Charles Anderson of Seattle, Richard Anderson of Greenbank, Sandra Heffernan of Tacoma. Dorothy was an active member of Bethany Church. She worked at the U.S. Post Office for several years. After retirement, they sold their home in Ballard and became "snow birds", traveling to Mesa, Arizona for many wonderful years in the sun. Dorothy lived her final seven years with her loving son, Dick. She loved watching the Mariners on the 60-inch T.V. her son Charles bought for h er. She enjoyed the lively rivalry of Husky-Cougar football games. She worked in the "above ground" garden that Dick built for her, and always had a smile for Sandra and Judy when they visited on the weekends. She was blessed with five grandchildren, John Sage, Jim Sage, Jennifer Dwight, Patrick Heffernan, John Heffernan, and five great-grandchildren.
