Dorothy Lee Carlson

Dorothy Lee Carlson, passed away, October 13, 2020, in Olympia, Washington. She was the daughter of Louis and Catherine St. John and was born on November 17, 1925 in Bellingham. She moved to Seattle area in 1943 and Married Roy V. Carlson during the midst of World War II. Roy fought in Pacific Theater and they were reunited in 1946 and began raising their family. Roy working for U.S. Post Office while she worked for Western Union. Roy passed away in 1998 after 55 years of marriage and three children. Dorothy was a fervent community activist and was directly responsible for the replacing of the old wooden Lucille St. bridge connecting Beacon Hill to Georgetown.
She is survived by three children and their spouses, Cathy (Don) Deschenes, Roy (Bess) Carlson, and Michael (Lori) Carlson. Two nieces Chris Mowery and Patti Small. Also, four grandchildren, Joanne Stiles, Scott and David Deschenes and Matthew Carlson. Along with two greatgrandchildren Hunter and Bode Deschenes. She was also preceded in death by her sister Lois.
Graveside services will be at Evergreen Washelli on Thursday, October 22nd at 11 am.
